A little preparation before you drop off can make a big difference in how many of your items we can accept. Here’s a simple checklist.
1. Sort with a buyer’s eye
Lay everything out in good light. Check underarms, collars, cuffs and hems for stains or wear. Set aside anything that’s damaged beyond a simple repair.
2. Empty every pocket
It sounds obvious, but receipts, coins, lip balm and pens turn up all the time. A pen left in a pocket can ruin a garment during cleaning.
3. Keep the extras together
Belts, removable linings, spare buttons and matching suit pieces add value. Bring them along with the garment they belong to.
4. Don’t worry about cleaning it first
Every item we accept is professionally cleaned and pressed by The Elementals Laundry before it’s listed, so there’s no need to launder or iron it yourself. Just make sure it’s free of anything that won’t clean out, like heavy odors or pet hair.
5. Bring it in the right way
- Bring up to 15 items per drop-off.
- Folding or hanging is fine. Avoid stuffing items into a trash bag, which creates deep wrinkles.
- Already a dry cleaning customer? Fill a clean-out bag and bring it back with your next cleaning order.
6. Know what happens next
We inspect each piece and let you know what we’ve accepted. Accepted items are cleaned, photographed, priced and listed for 75 days. When something sells, you earn 50%, paid monthly as cash or store credit.
All set? Book your drop-off, or just stop by the counter during store hours.
