Every piece on the Rack has made a journey before it reaches you. Here’s what happens behind the counter at The Elementals Laundry, step by step.
Step 1: The drop-off
Pieces reach the Rack in one of two ways. Some are unclaimed: a customer dropped them off for cleaning and never came back, even after the holding period. Others are consigned: someone brought them in specifically to sell through our consignment program.
Step 2: Inspection
We check every piece for condition: seams, linings, buttons, zippers and fabric. Items with damage we can’t fix don’t make it to the Rack.
Step 3: Cleaning and pressing
Each piece is professionally cleaned and pressed using the right process for its fabric, the same care we give every customer’s clothes. Small issues like a loose button may be fixed along the way.
Step 4: Photos and pricing
We photograph each item exactly as it is, so there are no surprises. Then we price it based on brand, condition and demand, aiming for a fair price that helps it sell.
Step 5: Hung on the Rack
The piece goes up online and in our Acworth store, often still carrying its original ticket number. It’s one of one, so once it’s claimed, it’s gone.
Step 6: Claimed by you
Buy it online and pick it up free, pressed and on a hanger, or try it on in person first. Need a better fit? Ask at the counter about alterations.
